Born in Lausanne, Switzerland, Julien has spent much of his life abroad, residing in the United States, Brazil, South Africa, and eventually settling in Paris, France, and Tallinn, Estonia. With many years of experience in the fashion industry, Julien brings a photographic approach to film directing, always striving to capture beauty, honesty, and emotion through the directness of a frame. He draws inspiration from the world around him, infusing his films with specific emotions and places to create a connection with the viewer, evoking nostalgia and deeper emotions. Julien's portfolio includes a diverse range of short documentary films. His film "Atlantis" is a visual poem exploring the dialogue between landscapes and portraits, humans and nature. "Maja" contrasts the fast pace of modern life, while "Kevade" and "Summer in Undva" showcase his work in Estonia. His latest film, "The Island," explores themes of time and colonialism in Morocco and Estonia.
