Matzo + Matzo
Matzo & Matzo is a photography duo formed by couple Máté Moro, a photographer, and Borbála Szántó, a visual artist. Originally from Hungary and now based in Paris, they started their collaboration under the name Matzo & Matzo in 2018. Combining their distinct artistic backgrounds, Máté and Borbála create a unique and compelling visual language through their photography, directing, and set design work. They are known for their keen eye for composition and spatial arrangements, with a particular focus on still life, fashion photography, and video direction. Máté earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in photography from the Moholy- Nagy University of Art and Design in Budapest, further refining his craft in fashion photography. He also spent time at the Zürich University of Arts before relocating to London to build his career in the fashion industry. Borbála, studied Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art in London before completing her Master’s in Sculpture at the Royal College of Art in 2017. Her artistic practice is rooted in installation art and sculpture, and she has exhibited in both group and solo exhibitions internationally. Matzo & Matzo’s approach focuses on balancing natural, spontaneous moments with carefully considered compositions. Their strong appreciation for set design plays a key role in their creative process, enabling them to weave compelling narratives through the relationship between human presence and objects. This blend of intuition and intention gives their work a unique, thoughtful quality.
